VMware NSX – How to get hands on labs

Well it is easy to find documentation, get the admin guide but nothing is worth than practicing when you really want to get knowledge on something.

When working with Cisco routers and switches, you can easily find tools like GNS3, packet tracer to practice. With Cisco VIRL it’s even easier to practice, test and improve your skills.

When it comes to VMware, the game is different.

It’s expensive to get your own ESX, license are expensive.

If you get the chance to get an ESX lab at work you maybe cannot play with it as some of your colleagues are also using it.

VMware offers hands on labs, you can find them here : http://labs.hol.vmware.com/

Here is the list of interesting labs that I need to have a look at :

  • The lab HOL-SDC-1610 Virtualization 101: vSphere with Operations Management 6

I will post a review of this lab once I have done it.

  • HOL-SDC-1402 – vSphere Distributed Switch from A to Z

I will post a review of this lab once I have done it.

  • HOL-SDC-1603 VMware NSX Introduction

I will post a review of this lab once I have done it.

  • HOL-SDC-1625 VMware NSX Advanced

I will post a review of this lab once I have done it.
